CROWDSOURCING A MORE CARING, SUSTAINABLE, HEALTHY & RESILIENT CORK
As we re-build from Covid-19, WeCanCork brings Cork businesses, citizens, nonprofits, institutions and experts together, to:
⦁ support & raise funds for nonprofits, while supporting sector change & advocating systemic solutions
⦁ promote community and workplace health & wellness
⦁ support local & community improvement initiatives
⦁ promote corporate and local sustainability and regeneration, linked to the Sustainable Development Goals
⦁ build an ever-better Cork through these times of immense change.
FOCUSED, ACTION-ORIENTED & POSITIVE
SOCIAL DONE DIFFERENTLY
WeCanCork is a social platform, but unlike dominant social platforms we are purpose-driven, results-oriented, civil & constructive.
Participants interact in a culture of helpfulness, professionalism, positivity. It's a non-party-political collaborative space focused on getting things done.
We're knowledge-based and fact-driven, and we're here to work in connected teams to make good things happen.
- OUR STARTING POINT FOR IMPACT
Nonprofit incomes are decimated by Covid-19 - just as needs are highest. Our starting point in WeCanCork is to organise fundraising initiatives for non-profits.
We will crowdsource ideas for these, not least with the help of the non-profit sector.
We will also organise a global fundraising initiative, GreenToGive – Empowering Global Irish Generosity through Connection, Purpose & Fun.
GREENTOGIVE - EMPOWERING GLOBAL IRISH GENEROSITY
IN CONNECTION, PURPOSE & FUN
Help kickstart a movement to run 1,000,000 charity fundraising micro-events across 5,000 cities and towns globally, in response to Covid-19.
GreenToGive will initially pilot in Cork and in Ballina, Co. Mayo, to experiment and learn what works best, and is looking for volunteer coordinators to help make this happen. It will then happen nationwide and worldwide.
Volunteer micro-event organisers are also needed, to create & run events raising even €30 each (or much more!) for charities including Focus Ireland (homelessness) and Jigsaw (teen mental health).
PARTICIPATE, SHAPE & SHARE
WeCanCork is organised into multiple “impact circles”, within wider headings of: Nonprofits; Health; Sustainability; Corporate Sustainability; and Local Action.
People join impact circles based on the difference they wish to make. Circles self-organise and manage their areas of focus, as well as coordinating with & supporting each other.
Everyone is encouraged to take an active part in shaping & promoting all of these discussions & initiatives, through the WeCanCork Community.
CONNECTING PEOPLE, BUSINESSES & COMMUNITIES
Kune is a new Cork-based social platform focused on connecting and empowering people, businesses and communities to transform lives, society and the planet.
We’re building networks of learning-and-action communities.
1) cities, countries & places
2) industries & topics, and
3) the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
We are also building the GreenToGive community,
empowering Global Irish generosity through connection, purpose & fun.
WeCanCork is funded by our Corporate Sponsors to empower their teams & communities to transform lives, society & the planet.
